SOMGEG provides site investigations services for airports, highways, commercial and residential developments, quarries, windmills, dam sites, towers, mines, and water treatment plants. Our services include everything such as routine testing, analyses and problem solving through designing and monitoring earthworks and foundations. Our experts conduct geotechnical site characterization through the following:
• Auguring and Rock Coring; We use hydraulic drilling rigs with its accessories to bore through soils and rock materials when investigating ground conditions for different sites.
• In situ testing; We are capable of conducting falling head tests, SPT, DCP, CPT, packer tests, vane shear test, plate load and field density.
• Sampling; we obtain soil samples from auguring, test pits, U100, SPT and rock samples through coring availing them for laboratory testing.
• Geological Logging; All our loggings are conducted by our Engineering Geologists in accordance with BS 5930:1999.
• Geophysical investigations; We use Ground Penetrating Radar (GPR), seismic refraction, electrical resistivity imaging, ground conductivity meters, down hole testing, and ultrasonic testing, among others to investigate underground formations and targets.
• Pilling; We are able to designs piles, conduct static and dynamic load testing on constructed piles
